Though initially inspired by Mother Nature’s rendition, I sought to find my own interpretation. When I started to sculpt the persimmon a lush and elegant form emerged. You may even have the expectation that the flesh will give under the pressure of a slight touch, were you to test it for ripeness.
Envision the persimmon in a garden setting, its form playing off finely textured foliage, or perched on the kitchen counter. Maybe you can imagine a much larger persimmon lounging on the poolside patio, reflecting the warmth of family and friends.
